"It was the experience of mystery -- even if mixed with fear -- that engendered religion."
- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

FAMILY DAY FOR MOTHER MARY
May is the month of our Mother Mary. And today, the last Sunday of May, we as a family
are honoring Her in a special way. Just as She, as a loving Mother took care of Jesus and
taught Him the value and meaning of love, may she also teach us how to love God and our
neighbors; and consequently, may She lead us to the very Heart of Her Son, Jesus Christ.

Providentially, it is also the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord. May we grow in the knowledge
of the Lord and follow His humble ways of serving and loving so that one day, may we join Him
in heaven. May we set our hearts and minds on the things that pertain to eternal life. The gospel
today tells us that after Jesus ascended into heaven, "the Eleven (apostles) returned to Jerusalem filled
with joy. There they were to be found in the temple constantly speaking the praises of God."
The experience of the ascension of the Lord by the apostles was an extraordinary experience that
confirmed their faith in Him as the Lord of heaven and of earth. May this experience be shared
by us today and may our Christian life be lived actively for others with joy, peace, love and kindness.
Amen. So be it.
